The Third Man

Instead of a literal grouping of three items, I interpreted the theme "three" as the third of a series. In the book of Genesis, Cain was the third human to ever exist, after his parents, Adam and Eve.

I myself am not religious, but Cain's story thematically resonates with me. He's the third human on earth, he's just a boy, but he's also the first murderer. Some might say he couldn't have understood the consequences of his actions. Some might say he was made to be an example. Some might say he was just truly evil. I think all these interpretations are very interesting and create incredible imagery and stories.

When I think about Cain, I think about how lonely he must have been, with only a few family members to keep him company. I think that would've driven me crazy too, lol!
